An altercation inside the Toluca Lake home of one of his ex-girlfriends’ leaves rapper 50 Cent facing domestic violence charges in Los Angeles. According to reports, 50 Cent, (real name Curtis Jackson) kicked the woman and caused $7,100 in property damage inside the home.
The incident was first reported when LAPD officers responded to a call at the woman’s Toluca Lake condo. Upon their arrival, officers were informed by the alleged victim that she had gotten into an altercation with 50 Cent and resulted in her locking herself in the bathroom of the home. She went on to report that the act of locking herself in the bathroom angered 50 Cent so much that he kicked down the door and began kicking her as well.
After ceasing to kick the woman, 50 Cent went on to damage a chandelier, T.V., lamp, and several other items in the home. He was able to leave the scene of the incident before police arrived, however.
The rapper is facing five charges, one of which is misdemeanor domestic violence, and is set to be arraigned July 22. If he is convicted, he could face up to five years in jail as well as $46,000 in fines.
No official comments have been made by the rapper or his representatives, though a tweet was posted to the rapper’s account stating: “I’m in the car, I haven’t been arrested.”
