Happy Labor Day! So, have you decided what you plan to do with your 3-day weekend? If your plan to stay home and barbecue, that’s an excellent idea. However, there are a ton of events going on all over Los Angeles County that could spice up your holiday.
- If you’re in or around the Long Beach area, or don’t mind the drive, why not check out the Queen Mary Shoreline Jam? From August 30 through the 31st, will feature some exciting bands, including the reggae-fusion group “The Dirty Heads.”
- Also in Long Beach, on September 1st, is the Long Beach Funk Fest. Headlined by George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, the event includes live art performances and some activities for kids as well.
- Whiskey Red’s in Marina Del Rey will be hosting a Clambake and Cookout where they will provide all-you-can-eat seafood, and make your own s’mores. Feast on the bounty of the high seas as you’re serenaded by live bands and DJ’s throughout the day. It’s on September 1st from 1-8pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
The South Bay isn’t the only happening spot in Los Angeles County, though they’re definitely one of the brightest.
- In Hermosa Beach, the Fiesta Hermosa is popping off on Labor Day Weekend!
- And for the entire month of September, the LA County Fair will be held at the Fairplex.
There are sure to be a few DUI checkpoints in and around Los Angeles County this weekend also.
