There are going to be a slew of LASD DUI checkpoints for December 2013 all over the city of Los Angeles. The checkpoints serve as a proven deterrent to those who might choose to drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

In 2011, nearly 774 people died in alcohol and/or drug related traffic collisions in California. Across the country, the death toll reached nearly 10,000 people. A DUI is probably the easiest penalty to avoid – if you plan to go out, designate someone else to drive or stay where you are.

As for the city of Los Angeles and the LASD, here is a list of known DUI checkpoint dates and the cities in which they will be held. The exact locations are not available at this time:

  • On Friday, December 13, West Hollywood will be host to a checkpoint from 7:00 pm to 3:00 am Saturday morning
  • Thursday, December 18, there will be a DUI checkpoint in Lynwood from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am Friday Morning
  • On Friday, December 20, there will  be a DUI checkpoint in the City of Bellflower from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am Saturday Morning
  • Lastly, Friday, December 27 in the City of Industry from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am Saturday Morning

Keep safe out there and always designate a driver.
