LASD Inmate Locator
When arrested in Pomona, arrestees will be taken to the Pomona Police Station where they will undergo booking and processing. After that, bail will be set and it will be possible to be released via bail bond. Those who are not released on bail will be held at the Pomona Police Station for no more than 72-hours, after which they will be transferred to one of the longer-term holding facilities in downtown Los Angeles. Men are transferred to Twin Towers while women are taken to the Lynwood Jail.
Sometimes inmates are transferred to the downtown jails before the 72-hour period is up because the on-site jail at the Pomona Police Station is getting overcrowded. When inmates are transferred, they can expect to spend at least another 12 to 24-hours in custody as they are processed in to the new facility. However, if the bail bond application process is begun quickly enough after their arrest, it is possible to avoid transfer altogether.
Booking and Processing
The arrest and booking process is one that you’re likely familiar with whether you’ve been arrested before or not. It’s the procedure that includes taking the arrestee’s photograph, recording their fingerprints and conducting a national background check. The process can take anywhere from 45-minutes to several hours to complete after the inmate arrives at the police station, depending on how busy it is.
The Bail Bond Process
We want to get your friend or loved one out of jail as quickly as possible, and our bail bond application process is streamlined with that goal in mind. All we need to get started is a little general information about the inmate, such as their full name, date of birth and the date and time of arrest. If not all of this information is immediately available, don’t worry – we can still help you out.
We will use the information to locate him or her within the system and verify their eligibility for bail. Once that’s been established, we will have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and indemnitor’s agreement. Then, we dispatch one of our agents to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released shortly thereafter.
If you’re unable to meet with us person, we can easily handle the entire process via phone, fax or email. We want things to be as convenient for you as possible, and that includes handling the bail bond process from wherever you’re most comfortable.
What is an Indemnitor?
The indemnitor is the signer of the bail bond. If the defendant is bailed out and meets all of their court obligations, then the bond is exonerated and there is no further responsibility to the bail bond’s signer. However, if the defendant does not show up, then the person who signed the bail bond will be responsible for paying the full amount of bail to the court. That being said, it is best to only bail out those who you know and trust.
