Calabasas is an affluent community located in the western portion of the San Fernando Valley. It’s a relatively new city, having recently been incorporated in 1991. However, the city does have roots in California history as one of the oldest surviving buildings in California, the Leonis Adobe, is located in Old Town Calabasas.

The City of Calabasas is small, and doesn’t have its own police station. As such, the city contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff to meet its law enforcement needs. When someone is arrested in Calabasas, they will be brought to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station where they will undergo booking and processing. This procedure includes having their photograph taken, fingerprints recorded and having a national background check conducted. Once completed, bail will be set and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.
When someone is not bailed out of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station jail within 72-hours, or if the jail becomes overcrowded, it’s highly likely that the inmate will be transferred to one of the larger jails in downtown Los Angeles. Men are sent to Twin Towers while women are sent to the Lynwood Jail. The transfer process can take upwards of 24-hours to complete, during which time the inmate will be ineligible for bail.
How Bail is Set
Once someone has been arrested and gone through booking and processing, bail will be set depending on the number and severity of crimes that an individual is charged with. Bail amounts are already available per the Los Angeles County Bail Schedule, meaning that a defendant doesn’t necessarily have to go before a judge before they can be bailed out. This means that when someone is arrested when the courts are closed (weekends, holidays, after hours, etc.) it will still be possible to get them out of jail.
The Bail Bond Process
To bail someone out of jail, give us a call and provide their name, birth date and the date and time of their arrest. If not all of this information is available to you, don’t worry – we can still help you out! We’ll use the information to locate the individual within the jail system and verify their eligibility for bail. Then, we have you fill out our bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we provide you with a receipt and dispatch one of our agents to the jail. Your friend or loved one will then be released a short time later.
All of our forms are straightforward and simple, but if you have questions, we’ll be happy to go over them with you. Additionally, if you’re unable to meet with us in person, we can easily handle the entire bail bond process from start to finish via phone, fax or email.
Paying for a Bail Bond
We will meet and beat any locally advertised price! We add no additional charges or fees when you work with us, nor do we charge interest if you choose to finance your bail bond. Our goal is to help you get your friend or loved one out of jail as fast as possible, not to put financial stress on families.
