LASD Inmate Locator
The officers at the Hollywood Community Police Station are responsible for the law enforcement needs of more than just Hollywood. They also patrol the areas of Loz Feliz, Cahuenga Pass, Argyle, East Hollywood, Fairfax, Hobart, Little Armenia, Hollywood Hills, and others. Even though the LAPD officers stationed at the Hollywood jail are responsible for patrolling other areas, the jail at the station is still relatively small. That being the case, when an arrestee is brought in for booking and processing, it can take several hours to complete depending on how busy the jail is. It is only after the booking and processing procedure that bail will be set and an inmate eligible to be released via bail bond.
On the up-side, the fact that it can take awhile to complete the booking and processing procedure can mean that there’s additional time to obtain a bail bond. You see, once someone has been booked and processed, they will be held at the jail until their arraignment in court. However, sometimes jails can get overcrowded (especially particularly busy jails) and when this happens, inmates are transferred to larger jails in downtown Los Angeles. Twin Towers Correctional Facility is usually where men are sent, while women are transferred to the Lynwood Jail. When this transfer occurs, an inmate will need to be “processed in” to the new facility, and this can take anywhere from 12 to 24 hours. While waiting to be “processed in,” an inmate cannot be bailed out, so the result is that those who are transferred end up spending additional time in custody.
Booking and Processing
Booking and processing is usually the first thing that happens to an arrestee after they are arrested. It’s the procedure you’ve likely seen before on t.v. in which a person’s photograph is taken, fingerprints are recorded and a national background check is conducted. Once this is complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it will be possible for them to be released via bail bond.
The Bail Bond Process
So how, exactly, do you go about bailing someone out? Easy! It starts by giving us a call and providing a little information about the inmate in question. Once we’ve located him or her and verified their eligibility for bail, it will be time to fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and indemnitor’s agreement. Once signed, we will provide you with a receipt and dispatch one of our agents to the jail; with your friend or loved one being released shortly thereafter.
If you’re not in the area, or it’s not convenient for you to meet with us to go through the bail bond application process, that’s no problem. The entire process, from start to finish, can be completed via phone, fax or email.
