Officers working out of the Foothill Community Police Station service the areas in and around Arleta. When someone is arrested, they’re taken to the Foothill Station where they will undergo booking and processing. The process can take anywhere from 45-minutes to several hours, depending on how busy the station is at the time of their arrival. Once complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.

The Foothill Community Police Station isn’t designed to serve as long-term housing for inmates. So, if the jail becomes overcrowded, or if inmates remain there for longer than 72-hours, they will begin to be transferred to one of the larger jails in downtown Los Angeles. Men are typically sent to Twin Towers Correctional Facility while women are sent to CRDF, a.k.a. the Lynwood Jail. Upon transfer, an inmate will be ineligible for bail for anywhere from 12 to 24-hours as they are processed in at the new facility. When the bail bond process is begun early enough, though, it is possible to avoid transfer altogether.

What is a Bail Bond?

Bail bonds are also known as “surety bonds” and are the most popular method for getting someone out of jail. When someone is arrested, the courts will require a certain amount of money be put up in order to secure the inmate’s release from jail. The money serves as a deterrent to ensure that the defendant shows back up for court. When they do, the money is refunded. When they do not, the money is forfeit.

Bail amounts will vary greatly, depending on the number and nature of the crimes an individual is charged with, and most people don’t have that kind of money just laying around. When you work with a bail bondsman, you pay only a fraction of the cost of the total bail amount as a fee.

The Bail Bond Process

It all starts by giving us a call and providing us with some general information about the person you want to bail out of jail. Once that individual has been located within the system and their eligibility for bail has been verified, we will have you fill out the bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. All of our forms are simple and straight forward, but if you have any questions, we’re always happy to help. Once everything has been signed, we provide you with a receipt and send someone to the jail to post the bond. Your friend or loved one will then be released after they are processed out.

If you aren’t able to meet with us in person for any reason, we can still help you out. We’re equipped to handle the entire bail bond application process from start to finish via phone, fax or email.
