Actor and rapper Kaalan Walker has been arrested and charged with 9 felonies, including forcible rape and sexual penetration, after he is alleged to have duped aspiring models and actresses he found on social media sites into meeting with him under the pretense of helping them with their career.

According to police, the charges date back to 2016 and include a familiar M.O. Walker would find aspiring models and actresses on social media sites, and use his celebrity as credibility when offering to help them break into the industry. Once he got the women to meet with him alone, he would then force himself on them.

All-told, Walker’s charges include five counts of forcible rape, three of sexual penetration with a foreign object and one count of forcible oral copulation. He is currently being held on $1,080,000 dollars bail.

Forcible rape is a serious felony, and is covered under California Penal Code 261 PC and is described as non-consensual sexual intercourse performed by means of threats, force, or fraud; or with a victim who is unconscious and incapable of consenting. The punishments are severe, and include three, six, or eight years in California state prison. The sentence can be even longer if the victim was a minor, with a minimum sentence of seven years and a maximum of thirteen.

Forceful sexual penetration with a foreign object, also a felony, is covered under California Penal Code 289 PC. The penalties include three, six, or eight years in California state prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.

Last, oral copulation by force or fear is covered under California Penal Code 288a PC. The crime is always considered a felony, and the possible penalties include the same as the two crimes listed above, with enhancements if the victim was a minor.
