LASD Inmate Locator
Deputies working out of the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station are responsible for patrolling most of Bouquet Canyon. Once they arrest someone, they immediately take them to the station to undergo the booking and processing procedure. After that, the inmate will be held at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station jail for up to 72-hours. If the inmate is not bailed out within that time, or the jail becomes overcrowded, it’s possible that they will be transferred to downtown Los Angeles. Men are sent to Twin Towers Correctional Facility and women to the Lynwood Jail. Once transferred, inmates will need to go through another round of processing at the new location that can take up to 24 hours to complete. During this period, the inmate will be ineligible for bail. Transfer can often be avoided, though, if the bail bond process is begun while the inmate is still located at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station jail.
Booking and Processing
Booking and processing is the procedure during which an inmate will have their photograph taken, fingerprints recorded and have a national background check conducted. The entire process usually takes anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, and only after booking and processing has been completed will bail be set for those who are eligible.
How to Bail Someone Out
To bail someone out of jail, give us a call and provide us with the name, birth date and the date and time of arrest of the person you want to get out of jail. We will use that information to locate him or her within the jail system and verify that they are eligible for bail. Then, we have you complete the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Finally, we provide you with a receipt and send someone to the jail to post the bond. Your friend or loved one will then be released as soon as they are processed out.
If you are unable to meet with us in person, that’s no problem. The entire bail bond process can be handled via phone, fax or email.
What is an Indemnitor?
The indemnitor is the person who signs the bail bond. When you bail someone out of jail, they are still obligated to attend all of their court dates on time. When they do, the bond is exonerated. When they do not, it is the person who signs the bail bond that will be responsible for paying the full amount of bail to the court. That being said, only bail out those whom you know and trust.
