The City of Riverside contracts with the RCSD to serve its law enforcement needs. When someone is arrested and taken into custody in Riverside, they are usually taken to the Robert Presley Detention Center to undergo booking and processing. This is the procedure during which arrestees have their fingerprints recorded, photographs taken, and a comprehensive national background check is conducted to look for more warrants. Once complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it will be possible to secure their release via bail bond.

When an inmate is not bailed out within 72 hours, they will usually be transferred to a long-term holding facility. The transfer process can take anywhere from 12 to 24 hours to complete, during which time it will not be possible to bail the defendant out. Once the transfer process is complete, the defendant will once again be eligible for bail.

The Bail Bond Process

Bailing someone out of jail is probably a lot easier than you may think. It starts by giving us a phone call and providing some identifying information about the person you want to bail out of jail. We will use this info to locate them within the jail system and verify that they are eligible for bail. Once that has been done, we will have you fill out our short, simple, bail bond application forms. Last, we send an agent to the jail to post the bond, and your friend or loved one will be released shortly thereafter.
