LASD Inmate Information
The City of Inglewood is patrolled by sworn officers of the Inglewood Police Department. When someone is arrested in the city, they will be taken to the Inglewood police station to undergo booking and processing. Only after booking and processing is completed will bail be set for eligible inmates and a bail bond obtained.
When inmates are not bailed out of the Inglewood jail quickly enough, they are usually transferred to a larger facility in downtown Los Angeles. Men are taken to Twin Towers Correctional Facility and women are transferred to the Lynwood Jail.
These larger jails are typically very, very busy, and see inmate transfers from all over Los Angeles County. As a result, being transferred to one of them will add at least 24 hours to an inmate’s time in custody as they await their turn at being “processed in” to the new facility.
If the bail bond process is begun shortly after their arrest, though, the transfer can often be avoided altogether.
How Bail is Set
When an arrestee arrives at the Inglewood police station, he or she will have their photographs taken, fingerprints recorded and a national background check will be conducted. This is the procedure known as booking and processing. Once complete, bail is set as per the Los Angeles County bail schedule provided an inmate is eligible.
If you’re concerned about bail eligibility – don’t be. The vast majority of inmates are eligible for bail after they undergo booking and processing. The few who aren’t are usually those who have a past history of skipping bail or those who are deemed a possible threat to the community, should they be released from custody.
Bail Bond Process
It all begins by giving us a call and providing some information about the inmate. Once we are able to locate him or her within the system and verify their eligibility for bail, the bail bond application forms must be filled out and the indemnitor agreement signed. Once complete, we will dispatch one of our agents to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released a few hours later.
The entire bail bond process can be completed at the jail, our office, your home or office, or via fax or email. We want to be able to provide you with our service regardless of where you’re located or where you feel most comfortable.
