LASD Inmate Information

Individuals who are arrested in Culver City proper, or in some of the surrounding unincorporated areas will be taken to the Culver City Police Station Jail immediately after their arrest. Arrestees are allowed one visit a day by a friend or family member during established visiting hours. Bail bondsman are allowed at any time.

While at the jail, the arrestee will have their photographs taken, fingerprints recorded and a national background check conducted – a procedure otherwise known as booking and processing. Once this process has been complete, bail will be set for the eligible inmates.

The Culver City Jail is small, and booking and processing usually takes anywhere from 2-4 hours. Since it isn’t a big jail, male inmates who are not bailed out quickly will be transferred to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility. The visiting hours at Twin Towers are:  Monday – Tuesday 9:30 am – 12:30 pm and 2:20 pm – 6:30 pm Saturday – Sunday 7:30 am – 12:45 pm and 2:30 pm – 3:45 pm.

If a woman is arrested, she may be transferred to the Van Nuys Jail. Visiting Hours are: 7 Days a week from 10 am to 3 pm.

When these kinds of transfers takes place, an additional 24 hours can be spent in custody as the booking and processing procedure will begin all over again, this time at a much larger, much busier location. If the bail bond process begins quickly enough, transfer can usually be avoided.

Bail Process

Whether an inmate is located at the Culver City Police Station Jail, Twin Towers or the Van Nuys Jail, the bail bond process is the same. It begins by calling and providing us with some minor information about the defendant.

We will use the information to locate him or her and verify their eligibility for bail. Once this has been done, it will be time to fill out the bail bond application forms and indemnitor agreement. Lastly, one of our agents will be dispatched to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released a few hours later.
