The LAPD officers of the North Hollywood Police Station patrol North Hollywood, Cahuenga Pass, Studio City, Sun Valley, Toluca Lake, Toluca Woods, Universal City, Valley Glenn, Valley Village and West Toluca.

When someone is arrested in one of the above areas, they will be brought to the North Hollywood Police Station to undergo booking and processing. Once complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it’s possible to bail them out.

Typically, when an inmate remains in the jail for more than a couple days, or if the jail becomes overcrowded, they will begin transferring inmates to one of the larger facilities in downtown Los Angeles. Men are usually transferred to Twin Towers Correctional Facility and women are sent to the Lynwood Jail. When this transfer occurs, the inmate will need to be processed in to the larger, busier facility; which can take anywhere from an additional 12 to 24 hours. As such, it’s best to get the bail bond application process started as quickly as possible in order to avoid this transfer when possible.

How Bail is Set

A judge will set an arrestee’s bail based on the number and nature of the crime(s) he or she is suspected of committing. Apart from that, the judge will always take the safety of the community into consideration when setting bail. When the judge does set bail it isn’t some made-up number. The judge will use the LA County Felony Bail Schedule as a guideline, which sets bail in varying amounts for the myriad charges a person can face.

How Bail Works

Bail works by offering up financial incentive to the courts in order to secure the release of an inmate. When bail is set, it’s basically the court saying that they’re willing to allow the inmate to be released from custody as they await their court date. However, the court requires that a certain amount of money be paid in order to secure their release. If the inmate meets all of their court obligations, then the money is returned to whoever posted it minus any relevant fees. If the person does not show up at the appointed date and time, though, the entire amount of bail is forfeited to the court.

The Bail Bond Process

It all begins by giving us a call and providing a little information about the inmate that we can use to locate them within the system. Once that’s complete, we will need you to fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and indemnitor’s agreement. After that, we dispatch one of our agents to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released a few hours later.

People get bailed out all the time, and the bail bond process is quick and easy. As a matter of fact, it’s so easy that you don’t even have to meet with us in order to do it. If you’re out of the area, or just prefer to handle things from your home or office, the entire process can be completed from start to finish via fax or email.
