LASD Inmate Information

The Hawthorne Police Station Jail is staffed by nearly 100 sworn officers and an additional 50 civilian staffers. It is the only police department in the South Bay with its own helicopter, electric motorcycles, armored rescue vehicle and tactical medicine program. Also, it is one of only two police stations in California that has a full-time service animal.

When an individual is arrested in Hawthorne, they are taken to the Hawthorne police station jail to undergo booking and processing. This is where fingerprints and photographs are taken and a national background check is conducted. Once complete, bail will be set and it will be possible to secure the inmate’s release via bail bond.

When the bail bond application process is begun shortly after their arrest, the defendant can be out of custody in as little as 45 minutes after booking and processing is complete.

However, if the inmate spends a longer time in the jail facility, it is likely that they will be transferred to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, the Van Nuys Jail , or even the LAX Courthouse. When this transfer occurs, the inmate can expect to spend at least an additional 24 hours in custody as they must go through booking and processing at the new facility.

Getting Started

The bail bond process begins by calling and providing us with a little information about the defendant, such as his/her name, birth date and date and time of arrest. It can help to have all of this information handy before you call, but if not all the info is available, we can still help you out.

Once we have located the inmate within the system and verified their eligibility for bail, it will be time to fill out the bail bond application forms and indemnitor agreement. Once complete, we will dispatch one of our agents to the jail and the defendant will be released a few hours later.

Our aim is to make this process as comfortable for you as possible. We can either meet with you at the jail, your home or office, our office, or handle the entire process from start to finish via phone, fax or email.

Signer Responsibilities

As the signer of the bail bond, you will be held financially responsible if the defendant fails to appear for their court obligations. A bail bondsman only requires a fraction of the total bail amount as their fee, however, in the unlikely case that the defendant fails to appear in court, it is you who will be responsible for the bail amount in its entirety. As a result, it is highly advisable to only bail out those whom you know and trust.
