When an individual is arrested and taken into custody in the city of Compton, California, they will be taken to the Compton Sheriff Station Jail to undergo booking and processing. It can take a few hours for the booking and processing procedure to be complete, or it can happen within 45 minutes to an hour – it all depends on how busy the jail is.
If the defendant is a woman, she will often be taken to the Century City Station instead. She may be later transported to the Lynwood Jail for women, otherwise known as, CRDF and then held there, from where she will need to be bailed out.
If the defendant is a man, he will be likely later be transferred to one of the larger facilities in downtown Los Angeles such as Twin Towers.
If a bail bondsman should arrive quickly, this transfer can be averted all together. If the bail bond application process is not begun quickly enough, though, the transfer can often add an additional 24 hours to the inmate’s time in custody as he/she is “processed in” to the new facility.
As such, if you’d like to minimize a person’s time spent in police custody, it is crucial to get the bail bond process started as soon as you can.

Booking and Processing
Booking and processing is the procedure in which an arrestee has their photograph taken and fingerprints recorded. After that, a comprehensive national background check is conducted to ascertain whether or not he or she has any additional warrants anywhere else. Once this is complete, bail will be set and an inmate is eligible to be released on bond.
The Bail Bond Process
The bail bond process is probably a lot easier than you think. It all starts by giving us a call and providing the name, birth date and date and time of arrest of the inmate. If you don’t have all of this information available – don’t worry! We can still help you locate them and proceed with the rest of the process.
The next step is to fill out and sign the bail bond application forms and indemnitor agreement. Once this has been complete, one of our agents will be dispatched to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released a few hours later.
