The Montebello police station is staffed by 84 sworn officers, 17 reserves and 45 civilian employees. When someone has been arrested in Montebello, they will be immediately taken to the police station where they will undergo booking and processing. Once that’s been completed, bail will be set and it will be possible for release via bail bond. If no bond is posted, the inmate will remain at the Montebello police station jail for a maximum of 72 hours before they are transferred to one of the larger facilities in downtown Los Angeles. Men are taken to Twin Towers while women will be transferred to the Lynwood Jail.

When transferred, inmates will have to undergo another booking process at the new, much busier location. As a result, they can expect to spend an additional 24 hours in custody. If the bail bond process has been begun while the inmate is still located at the Montebello police station jail, it is possible to avoid the transfer altogether and bail the inmate out directly from there.

Booking and Processing

Booking and processing is something you’re likely familiar with, as it has often been depicted in both movies and television. It’s the procedure in which an inmate has their photograph taken, fingerprints recorded and a national background check is conducted. The process itself can take anywhere from 45 minutes to several hours, depending on how busy the police station is at the time. It is only after booking and processing has been completed that bail will be set and an inmate will be eligible for release.

The Bail Bond Process

The bail bond process is pretty simple. It begins by giving us a call and providing a little bit of general information on the inmate so that we can locate him or her within the system. Once they have been located and their eligibility for bail has been verified, we will have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. After that, we dispatch one of our agents to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released shortly thereafter.

We’re committed to making the process as easy and low-stress as possible for our clients. As a result, we’re more than happy to handle the entire bail bond application process via phone, fax or email.

What is an Indmenitor?

The indemnitor is the person who signs the bail bond. When someone is released from jail via bail bond, it is imperative that the person show up to court at the appointed date and time. Once they do, and the court process is complete, the bail bond is exonerated. If they do not show up for court, though, it is the person who signs the bail bond (indemnitor) who is responsible for paying the full amount of bail to the court. As such, it is best to only bail out those whom you know and trust.
