Arrest and Booking Process

After an individual has been arrested, they are transported to either the police or sheriff station or jail where they will undergo the procedure known as booking and processing.

This process is where fingerprints and photographs (mug shots) are taken and a comprehensive background check is conducted.

The background check is known as a “live scan” and will notify law enforcement of any outstanding warrants, parole, immigration or probation holds.

At small police station jails, the process can take anywhere from 2-4 hours. At larger facilities, though, it can take much longer.

We can conduct frequent checks for updates during the booking process, on your loved one or friend, for the fastest bail timing.
